When God Says Go

There are moments in life when God teaches us to say no.

No to distraction.
No to compromise.
No to anything that pulls us off the wall of what He has called us to do.

There are also moments when we have to learn to say, “So what?”

So what if everyone does not understand?
So what if the timing feels uncomfortable?
So what if the door God opens does not look exactly like we expected?

Some things are not worth losing our peace over. Some things are not worth compromising our obedience for.

But there is another word God often speaks to His people.

Go.

At some point, it is not enough to say no to the wrong things. It is not enough to ignore the small things. There comes a moment when God calls us to move forward in faith.

God told Abraham, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you.”

That is not always easy for us. Most of us want the full plan before we take the first step. We want the map, the timeline, the details, and the guarantee that everything will work out.

But faith does not always get the full picture first.

Sometimes God gives the command, and the direction comes while we are moving.

Abraham’s faith was not proven because he understood everything. His faith was proven because he obeyed.

That is often how God works in our lives. He may not show us everything at once, but He asks us to trust Him with the next step.

When God says go, grace goes with us.

Maybe you have felt unqualified. Maybe you have looked at your past and thought, “God could never use me.” But grace breaks the power of condemnation. Jesus does not call perfect people. He calls surrendered people.

When Jesus stood before the woman caught in adultery, He said, “Neither do I condemn you. Go and sin no more.”

Grace did not leave her in the dirt. Grace called her forward.

When God says go, His presence goes with us.

Moses understood this. He said, “If Your presence does not go with us, do not send us up from here.”

That should be our prayer too.

Lord, we do not want to go without You.

We do not need more activity without Your presence. We do not need open doors without Your peace. We do not need movement without Your glory.

The presence of God makes the difference.

When God says go, faith moves forward.

There are times when God tells us to wait. But there are also times when we hide behind waiting because we are afraid to obey.

At the Red Sea, Moses told the people to stand still. But God said, “Tell the children of Israel to go forward.”

Faith is not always standing still. Sometimes faith is taking the step before the waters open.

Sometimes clarity comes as you go.
Sometimes healing comes as you go.
Sometimes provision comes as you go.
Sometimes the miracle happens while you are moving in obedience.

When Jesus healed the man born blind in John 9, He told him to go wash in the pool of Siloam. The man did not receive his miracle by standing still. He received it as he obeyed.

We often want the explanation, but God gives us the next step.

We often want the miracle first, but God gives us a command.

And the command we choose to obey often determines the miracle we are positioned to receive.

So maybe the question is not, “God, will You show me everything?”

Maybe the better question is, “Lord, what step are You asking me to take?”

Maybe it is forgiving someone.
Maybe it is stepping into a new opportunity.
Maybe it is serving again.
Maybe it is starting devotions with your family.
Maybe it is sharing your faith.
Maybe it is simply saying yes to the thing God has already placed in your heart.

When God says go, we do not go alone.

His grace goes with us.
His presence goes with us.
Faith rises within us.
Obedience opens the way.

So do not turn back. Do not get stuck in comfort. Do not wait for everything to make sense before you obey.

When God says go, the right answer is simple:

Yes, Lord.
