Have you ever felt like life was just… dry? Like everything around you looked normal on the outside, but inside, you were running on empty? Ezekiel knew exactly what that felt like when God took him on a tour through a valley of dry bones (Ezekiel 37).
Dry Bones in Disguise
On the surface, Israel looked alive—they went to work, raised families, and carried on with life. But in the spirit, God revealed they were nothing but dry bones. Isn’t that true for many of us? We can dress it up, post the right pictures, and look fine outwardly, yet inside, marriages are falling apart, dreams are dying, and hope feels gone.
The Process of Dryness
Dry bones don’t happen overnight. It’s a process. Breath is lost when we stop relying on the Holy Spirit. Skin fades as what’s inside begins to show outwardly. Muscle disappears when we lose the strength to fight. Finally, ligaments unravel, and we fall apart completely.
God doesn’t allow this to reveal our shame but to reveal the process—because only by facing the reality can we break the cycle.
The Process of Revival
When Ezekiel prophesied, the bones came together bone to bone. But notice—God didn’t fix it instantly. He used process. God is more concerned with your soul prospering than with giving you a quick fix. If He gave you everything instantly, you wouldn’t be able to sustain it.
Like pregnancy requires nine months for the body to prepare, revival requires a process to prepare you to carry it.
Speak to the Bones
Ezekiel’s command wasn’t to pray—it was to prophesy. When you already know God’s will, it’s time to open your mouth and declare it. Revival starts with a sound. Your turnaround begins with a sound. Stop speaking death and start speaking life over your family, finances, and future.
Can These Bones Live?
Yes—but not by your own strength. Not by covering up chaos. God won’t revive what you insist on keeping on life support. But if you surrender it to Him and begin to prophesy, life will return.
Friend, God is calling you out of the valley. Don’t just dwell in the land—possess it. Prophesy over your children, your marriage, your future. Declare: I am blessed. I am called. I am chosen. My household shall live.
