Fast 2026 - Day 6

Ezekiel 22:30  I looked for one among them who would build up the wall and stand before Me in the gap on behalf of the land so I would not have to destroy it, but I found no one.
Did you know that your heart-felt prayers have power to actually change the course of someone’s life, or the spiritual atmosphere of a city or region or the destiny of a nation?

God looks for those who would be willing to come before Him in prayer and intercession on behalf of their families, churches, regions and nation!  This is called “standing in the gap” as we see in our scripture above.  The gap is the place between the messes and sins of our lives and the merciful grace and intervention of God.  He has made a way for us to boldly approach His throne of grace and mercy and on behalf of others, to seek His help.  This is intercession, to which we are all called.  Christ is our example, for the scriptures tell us that He is our High Priest who always lives to make intercession for us—He is always standing in the gap before the Father, praying for Us!

2 Chronicles 7:14 says, “If My people (that’s us), who are called by My name will humble themselves (this is fasting), and pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

Do you see the operative words if and will?  God’s promise is contingent upon our intercession.   I submit to you beloved that the law of intercession supersedes the law of sowing and reaping!!!  That’s powerful!  And God is moving throughout the earth to see if He can find one who is willing to stand in the gap and pray, “God help!  Let Your Kingdom come and Your will be done in the earth as it is in heaven!” We have an invitation to partner with Him in prayer.  Will you be one?

Father, just as Christ stands in the gap for us, with the same heart and mind we stand in the gap for our families, for Hope City Church and our region and our nation!  We have sinned and deserve your judgment against us, but we cry out, Lord God, have mercy upon us and forgive our sins!  May your mercy triumph over judgment!  Do not give to us as we deserve but instead out, “God, save and heal our children and families, save and heal the United States of America!  May we fulfill our destiny according to Your will and plan!  In Jesus name we pray and believe, Amen!
